Bradford Receives a Royal Visit

This morning Zouk Chairman, Amjad Bashir, met HRH the Prince of Wales when he visited Bradford in support of the work his charity Mosaic has been carrying out in the region.  Yorkshire Mosaic has been working hard with local schools in the region and has delivered such positive results that the Prince decided to visit the region in person in recognition of the work and all those who have made a contribution.  Mr Bashir, who is a member of the local Leadership group for Mosaic was invited to be among the guests who greeted Prince Charles and presented some of the local activity.

Mosaic were pleased to welcome Amjad not only as a Mosaic volunteer but also as a special guest in recognition of the recent fund-raising he carried out with associates from the local business community.  Earlier in the year Amjad took across food aid and supplies for the stricken victims of the devastating Pakistan floods.

The Mosaic charity was originally set up by the Prince to inspire Muslim youth by bringing them together with successful motivational individuals from British Muslim society.  Mr Bashir is not the only member of the Zouk team who has been actively involved in supporting Mosaic.  In fact his meeting with HRH was a bit of a family affair as his daughter Habiba Amjad and son Tayub Amjad, who both volunteer as Mosaic mentors, were also invited to attend the royal visit.

As a young Bradford based entrepreneur the work of Mosaic is something Tayub feels particularly passionate about.  He commented ‘I have always said that to succeed in business you must work in an area that you are passionate about.  We support Mosaic and the work the charity does as it plays a key role in inspiring our young people and helping them to discover their passion and potential.’

Tayub who has been an active member of Mosaic since its inception is also shortlisted for the Young Entrepreneur of the Year title at the Mosaic Charity Annual Awards, which will take place in London this evening.
