Olive Tree scopped the runners-up award, leaving fellow nominees Zachrays, Saffron Desi, Saffron Guiseley and last year's winner, Village Bar and Bistro, empty handed.

The interior has been designed to create a welcoming and stylish environment with luxurious seating, warm mahogany wood, soft lighting and chic granite tiling. The kitchen is designed in theatre-style to offer diners interaction with the chefs.

Zouk is the brainchild of a unique and dedicated family team. Amjad Bashir, known as Peter to his regular customers, has been working in the restaurant inustry for more than 25 years.

His sons, Mudassar and Tayub, who grew up to share their father's passion for good food, dreamed of creating a new generation restaurant that would fuse authentic Lahore cuisine with healthy eating in a stylish setting.

They wanted to design a contemporary tea bar and grill that would be the kind of place customers could enjoy socialising with family and friends - essentially more than a restaurant.

It also had to be a welcoming place which opened all day so people could pop in for breakfast, lunch, dinner, supper or even just a drink or tasty desert.

The brothers have anjoyed visiting eateries in Morocco, Lahore, London and various other locations around the world, bring back to bradford a taste of their experiences.
